Welcome to Indigo Class!

The adults who work in Indigo Class are Mrs Sawdon, Mrs Doyle, Mrs Eamonson and Mrs Drury.  Mrs Doyle teaches Indigo Class on Mondays and Tuesdays; Mrs Sawdon teaches from Wednesday to Friday.

Every morning we start the day with our Morning Project where we read exciting books - sometimes by ourselves and sometimes with an adult to help us.  We also do Maths and English every morning.  On Tuesdays we have PE and on Fridays we go swimming.  We change our home reading books every Thursday.  On Wednesdays we have Golden Time where we get to try lots of fun activities as a reward for excellent behaviour.  Each week, we get our spelling homework on Mondays and our times table homework on Fridays.

This year we have studied 3 different topics - World War 2, The Arctic and The Ancient Greeks.  As part of our topics we have produced some fantastic homework projects.  Some people made gas masks, WW2 wedding cakes, aeroplanes, evacuee's suitcases, tanks, Anderson shelters and Ancient Greek temples!

In Year 5 and 6 we have a special reward scheme called Perfect Days.  If we are here and behaving perfectly every day then we get to go on a fantastic, fun trip to Xscape and LightWater Valley.  We work really hard to make sure that we are in school and that we are always doing the right thing so that we don't get any red or yellow cards.  However, we get 10 chances before we lose our place on the trip.

We are currently doing a project all about the history of our local area.  As part of our project we have studied the history of Wakefield Park and found lots of interesting facts.  We are producing leaflets to tell people all about our local park, its history and what you can do there.  As part of our project we are going to visit the park to see what else we can discover!
