Autumn 1 2019
We've been hard at work since we came back to school. The children have been recapping their place value and basic writing skills alongside starting our topic - The Stone Age!
The children have worked in groups to write about some of the work we have been doing over the first few weeks back.
Our Class Charter
We agreed on our class rules.
We all did our best to create the best class charter posters we could. This helps to remind us what we have agreed to do to keep each other safe and happy. We thought carefully about what we could do to make our classroom a great place to learn. We used our school golden rule to start us off.
Treat others as you would like to be treated!
See the picture below for our agreed class charter...

We love reading in Green Class so we decided to share our love of reading by recommending our favourite books. Our book corner needed sprucing up so we each designed our own hand made rocket using our favourite books to decorate the bodies. Now when you walk into our reading area all you have to do is look up and you'll see book recommendations shooting towards the stars.
Some of the books we chose were:
- Six Dinner Sid
- Harry Potter
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid
- Fantastic Mr Fox
- The Gruffalo
- Bad Dad
- Dork Diaries
- The Worst Witch
We've been working hard on our writing skills, making sure that we are choosing words which make our writing interesting to read. We have been working on spotting nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs and using these in our writing. We went on a noun hunt and acted out verbs. Here are some pictures of us acting out our journey to the Slinky Dog Dash. Can you guess which verbs we used?
