Our Core Values

Reason

  • We work hard to know and understand things for ourselves, looking for links and connections.
  • We always strive to find out ‘why?’ or ‘how?’ in our learning.

Resilience

  • We understand that we may not always find things easy, but that if we try hard, we can reach our goals
  • We see mistakes as an everyday part of learning and so we’re not worried about making them. We never give up.

Respect

  • We treat each other as we would like to be treated.
  • We learn from those who have gone before us.
  • We look after the world around us, and we spread happiness and kindness wherever we can

Our Vision and Aims

Through our ambitious curriculum and exciting first-hand experiences, children will gain the knowledge, skills and firm foundations needed to understand their place in the world, whatever their starting points.

We aim to foster independence, resilience and ambition in children, helping them to achieve their best academically, emotionally and socially.

We want children to see the endless possibilities in their futures, aspiring to change the world into what it could be.

Our Ethos

At The Mount, our focus on respectful relationships permeates all areas of school life and can be seen in the interactions between children, staff and families.

We are committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive and safe environment for all our children, where diversity is celebrated. We are proud of the positive, purposeful and calm atmosphere in the school.

We are a trauma-informed school, having recently introduced a neutral, natural, therapeutic school environment; a relational approach to behaviour management; and emotion coaching.

The wellbeing of all members of our school community is of utmost importance.
