Our EYFS unit is a wonderful mix of Nursery and Reception children: Pink Class and Red Class.

We offer:

  • A 15-place morning Nursery (Pink Class) for children aged 3-4 years.
  • A 30-place Reception class (Red Class) for children aged 4-5 years.
  • Starting Easter 2026 we also have a 30-hour nursery!  Contact the school directly for details.

At The Mount, we recognise that it is a privilege to support children at the start of their lifelong learning journey. We strive to provide a nurturing, safe, and secure learning environment where children are excited to come to school. We understand the importance of building strong relationships with our children, parents, carers, and the wider community. This encourages independent, happy learners who thrive in school and reach their full potential from their various starting points.

Class Teachers: Mrs Carr (Nursery); Mrs Padget (Reception)

Nursery Nurse: Mrs Coates

Information for Parents

Use of Dummies

If your child uses a dummy, whether for comfort at bedtime or simply as part of their routine, you may find the attached information sheet helpful. It explains some of the things to be aware of, including how dummy use can affect mouth development, speech, and infection risk.

We hope this gives you the information you need to decide what’s right for your child and your family.

Toilet Training

At The Mount School, we encourage all children to be as independent as possible. Children should attend school fully toilet trained unless they have an identified medical or developmental need and an agreed care plan.

Please ensure your child:

  • Can use the toilet and manage their clothing independently
  • Brings a spare set of clothes each day
  • Arrives with a clean nappy if they are still wearing one (changing facilities are available before drop‑off)

We understand that accidents happen and will always respond sensitively. If your child is not yet toilet trained, please speak to us so we can plan appropriate support together.
