Homework at The Mount

At The Mount Junior, Infant and Nursery School, we aim to provide a full broad and balanced curriculum for our pupils, during school hours.  However, we see the benefits of homework as including the following:

• children can practice work taught in class;
• children have the chance to carry out independent research projects;
• children can discuss their learning with their families;
• children can focus on developing key skills.

Reading is at the heart of our homework policy.  Children benefit greatly from reading regularly and widely, and this is something that we feel should continue outside of the classroom.

Here is an example of a half-termly homework grid. These are optional activities for those families wishing to have more homework choices.
